About Dental Implants

Dental Implants are an effective, predictable method to replace one or several lost teeth. Each implant consists of a man-made, titanium post that is placed into the jawbone. This post takes the place of the tooth root. In most cases Dr. Wolf can remove a hopeless tooth and replace it with and implant in 1 visit. It’s painless and you can even have temporary teeth delivered on the same day. Once the implant heals to the surrounding bone and gum tissue, it is ready for your dentist to restore. The time frame depends on the quality and quantity of the bone at placement and can range anywhere from 6 weeks to 8 months.

Dental Implants are used in many ways, such as replacing single or multiple teeth, or as anchors to keep dentures or removable partials from slipping or moving. Few treatment options in dentistry are as adaptable and have the long term success and predictability of dental implants.

After your implant procedure, bed rest is recommended for one day and limited physical activity for 2-3 days to allow the gum to heal and minimize bleeding. You may feel sore, in the area where the implant is placed, for a few days. Pain is not usually reported by our patients. Following post operative instructions is critical for success and for a positive experience.
