If Dr. Wolf prescribed an Oral Sedative, (Triazolam, Ativan, Xanax, and Valium), follow the instructions on the bottle. You will begin feeling comfortably relaxed 30-45 minutes after taking the pills. You MUST arrange to have someone drive you to and from the office. Do not drink any alcoholic beverage or take any narcotic pills for 8 hours before or after taking any sedative!
If you feel nauseous after returning home, take syrup of Coca-Cola, 1-2 teaspoons over crushed ice. In addition, you may take Emetrol liquid, 2 tablespoons as needed. These medications can be purchased at your pharmacy.
If you are having I. V. Sedation, Dr. Wolf or his nurse anesthetist will contact your doctor for medical clearance. They will also provide complete instructions for your appointment, and information related to eating prior to your surgery.
